HVAC/R Technicians are In-Demand Year-Round!

Train for a Career that’s Essential All Year

Are you ready to start a new career? Do you want a job that will keep you working all year long? Consider training for a career in HVAC/R Technology! At IntelliTec College, our AOS Degree program prepares students for this rewarding career in as few as 19.5 months!

Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) is the technology of indoor environmental comfort, and the systems that provide all of us with that comfort. HVAC/R technology, including heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, maintains our homes and buildings in optimal conditions, while refrigeration maintains our food systems. These systems are critical for maintaining the air temperature and quality of the environment in which we live, work, and play.

HVAC technicians are the professionals who are responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of these systems. Similar to Electricians, HVAC/R technicians are skilled tradespeople with a high level of specialized training. HVAC/R technicians are essential infrastructure workers because their services are necessary for ensuring continuity of building functions and maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and businesses. The critical services HVAC/R technicians provide are needed across the country, throughout the entire year, so this is not a seasonal occupation but rather a reliable year-round career.

Because homes and businesses rely on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration systems to keep them comfortable and safe, HVAC/R systems are critical, and so are the HVAC/R technicians who install, maintain and repair them. Installation and maintenance of the heaters that keep us warm on cold winter nights, the air conditioners that cool us off on hot summer days, the ventilation systems that maintain air quality for our health and comfort, and the refrigeration our food systems rely on, translates into a continual and year-round demand for knowledgeable and skilled HVAC/R technicians. Additionally, most HVAC/R equipment has a lifespan of 10 – 15 years, so the installation of new systems is an ongoing process.

It takes specialized knowledge and training to be able to work with HVAC/R systems, and to diagnose and repair problems in those systems. HVAC/R technicians with training from an accredited vocational school and respected industry certifications are well positioned to find employment in today’s labor market. At IntelliTec College, we offer an HVAC/R training program to prepare students for this great career in as few as 19.5 months!
