Since 2005, IntelliTec College in Pueblo has been offering career training in Southern Colorado. This is the only campus that provides a 4-week Nursing Assistant program. Pueblo is a very large/small town where everyone seems to know each other through someone else. So, the campus feels smaller than it really is causing a sense of family with caring faculty and strong student ownership in the school.
Peggy Rayburn, Campus Director, says that her favorite part is graduation. “Watching each student walk across the stage during the graduation ceremony is well worth the hard work. Hearing their friends and family in the crowd yelling, “that’s my mom/dad” or “that’s my wife/daughter/son” is priceless.”
She says that helping students accomplish a goal they never thought possible is very rewarding. “We want the students to graduate and become employed so we support and monitor their progress from the beginning to the end. Even when life happens and they have to stop their education for a short period of time, we reach out to them and see what we can do to get them back on track, graduated and employed. Other institutions treat them as dollar signs or just a number. We want to have a sense of family here.”
Begin to accomplish the goal of beginning a new career now. IntelliTec College in Pueblo offers career training programs that range from 4 weeks to 13.5 months.
