Press Release – For Immediate Release

Colorado –Automotive students at IntelliTec Colleges in Colorado are currently receiving hands-on training in real-world automotive repair shop settings. Prospective technicians are being trained in all aspects of the automotive field, preparing them to sit for ASE industry certification exams. The 18-month Automotive Technician program is available in Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, and Pueblo – the next enrollment begins soon! Anyone who enjoys machines, a hands-on challenge, problem solving and working with their hands can excel in this program.

The automotive industry offers a wide array of career opportunities, ranging from mechanic to master technician. IntelliTec’s Automotive Technician program offers all the necessary tools to prepare its students for success in this industry.

In this Associate of Occupational Studies Degree program, students receive personalized instruction from ASE and Snap-on certified instructors. Using Snap-on tools and diagnostics, they learn to design and assemble high performance engines (Colorado Springs campus), repair light diesel engines (Pueblo and Grand Junction campuses) and analyze, diagnose and repair various problems in a variety of vehicles. They are continually being prepared to sit for multiple certification exams, including EPA Section 609 Refrigerant Recovery & Recycling, and ASE Certifications.

Grand Junction Program supervisor Mark Faudree explains that “ASE is really the only standard to measure training and ability in the industry. Employers want applicants to at least have some ASE Certifications before entering into the field.”

Faudree says, “This is a big Industry field and there is always work in this field. It’s always steady and (the certifications and training) will travel with you across the country.”

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Employment of automotive service technicians and mechanics is projected to grow 9 percent from 2012 to 2022 (and) Job opportunities for qualified jobseekers should be very good.”
