IntelliTec’s Massage Therapy students benefit from true hands-on learning, taking the skills they learn in the classroom and applying them in a real-world setting, while offering excellent massage therapy services to the community. Come to our massage clinics to see what quality, affordable massage therapy services our IntelliTec students have to offer!
IntelliTec College has three massage clinics available to the public: Grand Junction, Pueblo, and Albuquerque. Each location is open Monday through Thursday, and offers affordable, professional massage therapy services in a professional atmosphere. All services are performed by IntelliTec Massage Therapy students, under professional instructor supervision. The clinics accept cash, checks, Visa, MasterCard and Discover, and gift certificates are also available.
When you visit one of IntelliTec College’s massage clinics, you can trust you’ll receive quality massage therapy services. IntelliTec College’s Massage Therapy program has been designed to prepare students for successful long-term careers as massage therapists. Students study both the theory and knowledge behind the art of massage, as well as receive hands-on training to master advanced technical skills to properly perform different modalities of massage. Students learn to perform Swedish, therapeutic, myofascial release, and deep tissue massage therapy, as well as specialized massage techniques such as sports and prenatal, hot & cold stone massage, and aromatherapy, reflexology, hydrotherapy and other spa services.
Students in the Massage Therapy program study human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, nutrition, massage theory and history. In addition, IntelliTec’s program includes a College and Career Readiness course to help prepare students for their career training, as well as a Clinical Massage and Marketing course, designed to show students how to market and advertise a massage business, interact with clients, build a client base, and more.
Graduates of IntelliTec College’s Massage Therapy certificate program transition from the program with 750 clocked hours of training, thoroughly prepared to sit for their Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEX), which is necessary for obtaining their Massage Therapy license in the State of Colorado and New Mexico. Graduates will also have enough contact hours to register to be certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Graduates will have the experience and skills to work effectively as an entry-level massage therapist working independently or as a member of a clinical team. Much of this experience is credited to the time spent working in IntelliTec College’s Massage Clinics, in which students take the skills they’ve learned in the classroom and apply them under the supervision of certified instructors who are licensed massage therapists.
